Facts
The plaintiff, then age 21, at around 1:30 a.m., knocked on the window of a 24-hour Chevron service station mini-mart in Yorba Linda. The mini-mart was then just open for business but its doors were locked at that hour for security reasons. The plaintiff knocked on the wire glass pane in the mart's door to gain the attention of the attendant inside. The plaintiff's hand went through the locked door's wire glass window, partially lacerating a tendon in his major hand and causing other injuries. He required surgery to repair the tendon.
