Facts

The Napa District Attorney's Office filed an unfair competition lawsuit against Villa Amorosa and its owner, Daryl Sattui, for operating a small public water system on its property in violation of numerous provisions of the Health & Safety Code and the California Code of Regulations pertaining to the permitting, maintenance, and testing of public water systems. These laws require owners and operators of small public water systems to have an appropriate permit and to meet certain testing standards and requirements.

Result

Defendants paid $67,000 in civil penalties and $33,000 in costs, for a total settlement amount of $100,000.
