The City of Dana Point filed suit against Beach Cities Collective, a medical-marijuana dispensary.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The City alleged that Beach Cities sold marijuana for nonmedical purposes. The City contended that the dispensary was an illegal, for profit retail sales outlet for marijuana.

Result

The court granted summary judgment for the City, awarding it $2.4 million in civil damages.
