Facts

Plaintiff Sharon Amon, and her husband, Elmer Amon (now deceased), constructed a house and barn on property they owned in Victorville ("the ranch"). They later entered into a partnership agreement with defendants Jack and Lydia Bentley to raise and train horses on the ranch. Defendants received a half interest in the ranch. After Elmer Amon died, the ranch was sold. The former partners had a dispute regarding the distribution of the sale proceeds, roughly $573,785.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended that she was entitled to the entire amount of sale proceeds because of the capital contributions she had made (including the improved ranch property itself) in light of the money the defendants already received and the advances she made to the lender which had not been reimbursed by defendants.

Result

In a bench trial, the court found in favor of plaintiff and awarded her $573,785.
