Facts

Arash Ghanadan, aka DJ Ghanadan, a promoter at after-hours parties, threw a party in a building at 570 Jessie in San Francisco. At the party, Ghanadan was arrested by police officer Larry Bertrand. Later, Ghanadan filed a lawsuit against Bertrand and the City and County of San Francisco, alleging unlawful arrest.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that defendant used excessive force in making an unlawful arrest. He alleged that Bertrand arrested him in retaliation for filing a complaint against him based on a prior arrest.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendants claimed that there was probable cause to make the arrest.

Result

The parties settled for $50,000.
