In August 2008, Raymond Castillo went to an exhibition football game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. While Castillo was at the game, a fight occurred two rows away from where he was located in the stadium. Oakland Police Dept. police officers reacted to the fight, approaching several fans to stop the altercation. Officer Bryant Ocampo tackled Castillo although Castillo had not taken part in the fight. Castillo cited Ocampo, the City of Oakland, and the Oakland Police Dept.
Injuries
Plaintiff's elbow snapped in the incident.
Result
The parties settled for $412,500.
