Facts

Plaintiff, a Caucasian British citizen Robert McNabb, was an industrial inspector for defendant city of Los Angeles hired to eliminate industry storm water pollution.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended defendant attempted to terminate or transfer all non-Filipino inspectors from his unit. Plaintiff said that defendant Vivian Marquez falsely accused him of bribery, of falling behind in his data entry because of his request that inspectors be provided computers and of arriving late when other employees were given latitude in their hours to complete field inspections.

Plaintiff also contended that defendant Marquez failed to promote him, and that defendant Marquez retaliated against him after he uncovered her mistakes, reported her improper use of a city vehicle as well as the practice of defendant's employees padding work hours.

Plaintiff alleged he was hospitalized as a result of internal bleeding and that defendant did not permit him to return to work after he received a workers' compensation award.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant contended plaintiff was not discriminated against and that their actions stemmed from legitimate business reasons.

Injuries

Plaintiff claimed he was hospitalized due to internal bleeding as a result of the discrimination and harassment.

Result

Defense verdict.
