On Aug. 17, 2007, plaintiff Antonio Medina, was traveling northbound on Hamilton Avenue in the number one lane and came to a complete stop at the intersection between Hamilton Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard. Plaintiff collided with defendant Martin L. Kozdrey while crossing the intersection. Defendant's front end collided with plaintiff's right side, causing plaintiff's vehicle to flip over onto its rooftop.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended that he observed that the intersection was clear and proceeded to cross the intersection. At the same time, plaintiff contended, defendant, who was traveling westbound on Del Amo Boulevard, failed to stop at the posted stop sign before entering the intersection.
Settlement Discussions
Plaintiff demanded $250,000. Defendant offered $50,000.

Injuries
Plaintiff was diagnosed with a left rib fracture, cervical spine musculoskeletal strain with MRI evidence of a 2 mm disc bulge at C5-6, and dorsal spine musculoskeletal strain. Also, a 6 mm disc bulge and significant spinal canal stenosis at L4-5 and left shoulder sprain. In addition, left knee contusion/sprain, chest wall contusion with left rib and bruising, and lumbar facet syndrome.
Result
The case settled for $125,000.
