Facts

A group of women brought a class action against Caldera Medical Inc. relating to its transvaginal mesh products. Caldera's insurer, Federal Insurance Company, filed an interpleader suit against it and Caldera.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Caldera urged the court to accept the parties' settlement.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants, who were the plaintiffs in the original suit, contended that Caldera knew or should have known that its products were hazardous and dangerous.

Result

The parties settled for $12.25 million. The class consists of approximately 2,700 women.
