Facts

On Jan. 18, 2009, Curtis Ellis drove a GMC Sierra on Interstate 5, while a 14-year-old female sat as a passenger in the vehicle. The car rolled over and the minor was hurt. The minor sued Ellis through her guardian ad litem, Kirk Sedley.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff claimed that defendant caused the accident and was cited for unsafe turning in violation of Vehicle Code Section 22107.

Damages

Plaintiff asked for $1,569,1777 in medical costs.

Injuries

Plaintiff suffered a closed-head injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, hematoma, fractures at C7 and T1, rib fracture, manubrial fracture, pelvic fracture, iliac bone fracture, pubic bone fracture, femur fracture, clavicle fracture, liver laceration, spleen laceration, ruptured bladder, right kidney injury, and left pneumothorax injury.

Result

The parties settled for $25,000.
