Walter Campos was a student at State Street Elementary School in Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) when he was hit by a vehicle driven by David Espino after leaving the school campus.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Campos filed suit against LAUSD, Espino, the principal, Cora Watkins, and his teacher, Karen Smith, alleging negligence.

Damages

Campos sought $1,178 in medical expenses.

Injuries

Campos sustained injuries to his left ankle and foot, as well as nasal and skull fractures, abrasions, bruising, and knee pain.

Result

The parties reached a settlement for $22,000.
