Facts

On May 15, 2008, a 14-year-old minor was riding his bicycle eastbound on Melrose Avenue when he came to a red pedestrian light and stopped. After the light turned green, minor proceeded through the light and was hit by a vehicle driven by Carl Moeller, who was exiting a parking lot.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Minor, through his guardian, Armida Costilla, filed suit against Moeller, alleging motor vehicle negligence.

Damages

Minor sought $6,290 in medical expenses.

Injuries

Minor sustained a sprain/strain to his spine, as well as sprains of his knee, ankle, and thigh, and a right leg contusion.

Result

The parties reached a settlement for $12,000.
