PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that defendant Abdolrahman Aminloo rear-ended her vehicle, as she was driving along State Route 55. She sustained injuries as a result of her seat collapsing and sued defendant driver for negligence and the owner of the vehicle, Kamran Aminloo, for vicarious liability.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants disputed plaintiff's claimed injuries, arguing they were only minor injuries. Moreover, defendants claimed that the treatment plaintiff received were not all that necessary.

Mallakis demanded $9,640 in settlement, which defendants countered with a $1,500 offer of settlement.

Damages

Mallakis damaged her car in the amount of about $1,400. She sought $30,000 in damages, which included $9,640 in past medical costs.

Injuries

Mallakis sustained soft-tissue injuries to her back and neck, and also aggravated her spondylosis, a pre-existing condition. She underwent treatment with her physical therapist and primary care physician.

Result

The jury rendered a verdict in Mallakis's favor and awarded her $4,820 in total damages.
