Facts
Keith Truxel sued Claudia Mansbach after a collision between her automobile and his motorcycle.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Truxel contended that he and a passenger were traveling on his motorcycle when they were hit from the rear by Claudia Mansbach's vehicle. He claimed that in trying to keep his motorcycle upright he injured his back, ribs, neck and hip. He alleged Mansbach negligently operated her automobile.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Mansbach did not contest liability but claimed that only Truxel's back, ribs and neck injuries were caused by the collision, and not his hip injury because Truxel did not complain about it until after a year had passed.

Truxel claimed damages for past medical costs and pain and suffering.
Injuries
Truxel's claimed injuries were to his back, ribs, soft-tissue in his neck, and hip. He was treated at a hospital and underwent two months of chiropractic treatment and a hip arthroplasty.
Result
The jury awarded Truxel $37,405 for past damages, including $1,405 for past medical costs, $18,000 for past lost earnings, and $18,000 for past general damages. It found all but his hip injury were caused by the collision.
