Plaintiff claimed he sustained several lumbar compression fractures (L2, L3, L4, and L5), with moderate central canal stenosis. Plaintiff wore a back brace for several months, then received lumbar epidural injections and transforaminal injections at L4-5. After being followed by pain management specialists, plaintiff had a spinal cord stimulator placed by Dr. Jason Smith, for chronic pain syndrome due to compression fractures. The stimulator will need to be replaced every five to seven years, and pain management medication will be required.
Result
The case settled for $500,000 policy limits.
