Crystal Triplett sued her former employer The Beverly Hills Hotel relating to an injury she suffered on the job and to her subsequent termination.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Crystal Triplett began working for The Beverly Hills Hotel around April 11, 2011 after the hotel contacted her in Chicago where she had been living and asked her to come work for it as a communications manager. In September 2011, plaintiff injured her foot at work. She received medical treatment and required time off. In December 2011, plaintiff's doctor permitted her to perform modified sedentary work with crutches. Defendant refused to allow Triplett to return to work. In February 2012, her doctor permitted her to work but only if she used a motor scooter. Around March 20, 2012, the hotel terminated Triplett's employment. She sued for physical disability discrimination and retaliation.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Sajahtera Inc. asserted that The Beverly Hills Hotel was incorrectly named as defendant. Sajahtera generally denied Triplett's allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses.

Damages

Plaintiff sought various damages, including back pay, compensatory and punitive damages.

Result

The jury returned a verdict for the defense.
