Facts

Plaintiffs Chung Ok and Kipyung Choi are a retired couple in their 80s. In 2005, they purchased a contract from defendants Myung Hwan and Min Sook Park to operate a poker table at a casino in Los Angeles. But when plaintiffs attempted to set up the table, the casino informed them it was unaware of the contract. Plaintiffs thus claimed defendants did not have the authority to enter into the contract.

Damages

The plaintiffs claimed $360,000, the amount they paid defendants pursuant to the contract.

Result

A default judgment of $360,000 was entered for plaintiffs.
