Labor Secretary Thomas Perez filed a complaint against Topia Casual Inc. dba Topia Casual and All About Me concerning defendants' labor practices.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended that defendant violated the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 by paying employees wage rates that were less than the applicable federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour and failing to pay overtime wages.

Result

The parties settled. Defendant agreed to a permanent injunction and restraint from violating the FLSA, and agreed to pay $17,983 in back wages, among others.
