Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs alleged that on July 5, 2010, Wood drove with Rowlet as a passenger, and they stopped at an intersection. They claimed defendant crashed into the rear of the car because defendant was driving negligently.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant argued that the accident was not as extreme as plaintiffs claimed. Defendant claimed Wood's alleged injuries already existed due to a degenerative issue.
Damages
Rowlet asked for more than $20,000 in past medical costs.
Injuries
Both plaintiffs claimed to have suffered neck and back injuries, as well as lumbar disc protrusions. They underwent chiropractic care and physical therapy.
Result
Plaintiffs received $56,682 in total. Wood received $47,600 based on a $50,000 insurance police limit, while Rowlet had previously received $6,082.
