Facts

Plaintiff John Dachauer, age 69, worked as a plasterer in the Bay Area from 1955 to 1997. He regularly used exterior stucco and joint compound products manufacturer and sold by Bay Area based, defendants Kaiser Gypsum and Hanson Permanente (previously known as Kaiser cement).

In 2006, Dachauer was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He and his wife sued both companies.

Result

The parties settled during the second week of trial for $2.1 million.
