On June 28, 2005, plaintiffs Pamela Holloway, Leani Howard and Leann Howard were traveling on Imperial Highway near Figueroa Street, when they were struck by a vehicle driven by decedent Matthew Swindell.
Plaintiffs brought suit for negligence against Julia Mae Swindell and the Estate of Matthew Swindell.
Injuries
Plaintiff Leani Howard claimed leaking blood vessels in abdomen and facial injury. Leani required two surgeries and hospitalization. Plaintiff Leann Howard underwent a hospital examination.
Result
The parties settled for $100,000 (plaintiff Leani Howard received $50,000: $14,987 medical, $250 attorney fees; plaintiff Leann Howard received $1,000: $225 medical, $250 attorneys fees; plaintiff Pamela Holloway received $49,000).
