Facts
On July 28, 1993, plaintiff, Ariana Ehtemam, now 14, suffered brain damage during her birth at Kaiser Permanente's Anaheim hospital. According to court documents, Ehtemam wasn't breathing when she was delivered by caesarean section and now suffers from physical and behavioral problems. Ehtemam's C-section was allegedly not performed in a timely matter and the baby had to be resuscitated and spent several weeks in the hospital.

Hearing loss, poor impulse control and attention deficits.
Result
Settlement reached after a binding arbitration decision in favor the family. Kaiser will pay $3.2 million. Ariana Ehtemam will receive the first payment at age 18.
