    Facts

    Plaintiff Austin Stiles was driving his car when he was hit from behind by a vehicle that had been struck from behind by defendant's vehicle first. The chain-reaction accident ultimately involved five vehicles, as the impact to plaintiff's car caused him to hit the vehicle in front of him. The vehicle plaintiff hit, subsequently struck a fifth lead car. Plaintiff sued defendants, alleging negligence.

    Settlement Discussions

    Plaintiff demanded $1 million. Defendant offered $500,000.

    Injuries

    Plaintiff claimed injuries to his lower back, neck, knee, wrist, and brain. He also claimed that the accident aggravated a preexisting kidney stone condition.

    Result

    Verdict for plaintiff in the amount of $43,170.
