Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff was allegedly disabled after he suffered a seizure on Aug. 24, 2011, and was later diagnosed with a seizure disorder that could be controlled with medication. Plaintiff claimed he could no longer work because his medications rendered him unable to concentrate and caused other cognitive impairments. He also had trouble sleeping and was becoming increasingly depressed. As such, plaintiff applied for disability benefits but was denied. Plaintiff's subsequent appeal was also denied. Hence, the ALJ's denial became the final decision of the Commissioner.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The ALJ determined that plaintiff was not disabled under the Act and could perform in existing jobs.
Result
The court upheld the denial of benefits.
