Plaintiff Gretchen Tiernan was employed as a front office manager for Lydia Services Inc. doing business as The Massage Spot, in Manhattan Beach. Plaintiff reported directly to co-defendant [REDACTED], the general manager.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that co-defendant general manager repeatedly subjected her to sexual harassment. Plaintiff further alleged that the general manager created a hostile workplace environment throughout the entire time that plaintiff was employed by Lydia Services Inc. In addition, plaintiff alleged that the general manager defamed plaintiff when he accused her of stealing money from Lydia Services Inc.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Lydia Services Inc. denied all of plaintiff's allegations.

Damages

Plaintiff sought punitive damages. Lydia Services Inc. filed a motion to strike plaintiff's prayer for punitive damages.

Result

The parties settled for $50,000.
