PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Warner Bros. alleged that it owned exclusive distribution rights in a number of creative works that were protected under copyright law and that defendant sold counterfeit copies of these works through Amazon.com.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant denied the allegations of plaintiff's claims.
Result
Pursuant to a stipulation of the parties, the court entered a consent decree and permanent injunction. Defendant was permanently enjoined from various acts, including copying or distributing any VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray discs that contained certain motion picture or television titles of Warner Bros. that were subject to copyright protection. Defendant was also enjoined from profiting from any unauthorized copying of any of plaintiff's works.
