August Bagg, a minor, by and through his Guardian ad Litem, Jana Bagg, and Jana Bagg, as an individual, sued Michael Kohn and Carolyn Styne, in connection with a dog bite.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs alleged that defendants owned a German Shepherd/Labrador mix dog that suddenly, and without warning, bit August in the face, causing extensive injuries. Plaintiffs alleged that defendant knew of their dog's dangerous propensities. As such, plaintiffs sued defendants, asserting claims for strict liability for the dog bite, negligence, premises liability, strict liability for an animal with known dangerous propensity, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Result

The parties reached an $80,000 settlement.
