PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs alleged that defendants owned a German Shepherd/Labrador mix dog that suddenly, and without warning, bit August in the face, causing extensive injuries. Plaintiffs alleged that defendant knew of their dog's dangerous propensities. As such, plaintiffs sued defendants, asserting claims for strict liability for the dog bite, negligence, premises liability, strict liability for an animal with known dangerous propensity, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
Result
The parties reached an $80,000 settlement.
