Facts

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) filed a complaint against the City and County of San Francisco for allegedly violating various environmental laws in connection with the release of diesel fuel from storage tanks at the city's refueling facility in late 2005.

Damages

EPA sought no less than $130,000 in civil penalties and injunctive relief.

Result

The parties entered into a consent decree and settled for $250,000.
