Facts

The United States government filed a complaint against Artist Arena LLC, which operated fan websites for Justin Beiber, Rihanna, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. The Federal Trade Commission charged Artist Arena with violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by improperly collecting information from children under 13 without their parents' consent.

Result

Artist Arena agreed to settle the charges for $1 million.
