Facts

On April 8, 2011, plaintiff Russell Vierra was stopped at an intersection when he was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by defendant Roman Estrella. Vierra sued Estrella, alleging that he was negligent in the operation of his vehicle because he failed to pay proper attention and caused the collision.

Vierra admitted liability.

Damages

Vierra sought $5,000 in medical costs and an unspecified amount for pain and suffering.

Injuries

Vierra was diagnosed with a bulging cervical disc and treated with a physical therapist.

Result

The parties settled for $20,000.
