Facts

In 2010, Cindy Casas was traveling eastbound on 5th Ave. in Escondido when she was struck by a vehicle operated by Raouf Manouchehr as she entered the intersection of South Orange St. Casas suffered injuries as a result thereof and sued Manouchehr for negligence. He conceded liability.

Injuries

Casas claimed pain to her neck and back. She treated by a chiropractor for two and a half months and treated with physical therapy for another four and a half months. An MRI revealed normal results with cervical, thoracic and lumbar pains and strains. However, she continued to experience pain in her neck and back.

Result

The jury rendered a verdict for Casas and awarded her $13,825, which included $11,326 for past medical cost and $2,500 for general damages.
