Patricia Hauck sued the City of Los Angeles under a harassment claim.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF’S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that she was sexually harassed in the workplace.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that plaintiff did not report the alleged harassment by her coworker until months after the alleged conduct ceased, and months after the coworker moved to a different location. The city therefore did not know about the alleged harassing conduct until plaintiff reported it months after the fact, and took action once plaintiff did report the conduct.

Result

The parties agreed to settle for $400,000.
