Luke Pfaffinger and Julie Pfaffinger sued the County of Los Angeles, in connection with water damage to their Altadena property.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs claimed sewage and wastewater flooded plaintiffs' garage as a result of a sewer backup in the mainline.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that the bathroom that flooded did not have a proper permit.

Result

The parties reached an $87,112 settlement. Additionally, the Pfaffingers agreed to dismantle the unpermitted bathroom.
