William Royce sued Laemmle Theatres LLC.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Royce claimed that Laemmle failed to properly maintain the theater's premises in a reasonably safe condition. Royce claimed that the theater's lighting was so dim that he could not see where he was stepping as he walked down the theater's stairway. As a result, he tripped, fell, and hit his head on a chairs' armrest.

DEFENDANTS’ CONTENTIONS: The defendants alleged that Royce tripped because he failed to pay attention to where he was walking and argued that the stairway was adequately lit.

Royce alleged that he suffered brain damage, abrasions, anxiety, brain trauma, and suffered from depression.
