Contentions
CLAIMANT'S CONTENTIONS: Claimant alleged that respondent liquidated her husband's annuity and convinced claimant to take out a mortgage on their home to purchase an American Skandia variable annuity, which claimant alleged was unsuitable. Claimant further alleged that respondents failed to adequately supervise Knight's activities. Claimant also asserted causes of action for negligence, fraud, and deceit.
RESPONDENT'S CONTENTIONS: Respondent denied the allegations made by the claimant and asserted various affirmative defenses. Additionally, Hill requested expungement of his records.
Result
The arbitrator found for the claimant and denied Hill's request for expungement.
