Facts
Simon Majdipour, Pamela Austin, Brian Fuchs, Charles Manis, Jason Manowitz, and Marvina Robinson filed suit against Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC in relation to air springs in the electronic air suspension of Model Year 2003 through 2006 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles.
Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that the air springs in the electronic air suspension of Model Year 2003 through 2006 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles were defective, and the defects made the air springs prone to cracking and leaking. Plaintiffs claimed that the cracks and leaks caused a loss of air pressure in the suspension, which impacted vehicle ride height. Plaintiffs alleged that they incurred costs to replace the defective air springs, and defendant should be liable for those costs.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the allegations.
Result
Jaguar Land Rover North America agreed to pay $6.7 million to settle plaintiffs' claims. Under the settlement agreement, consumers may receive up to $500 in reimbursements for repair costs incurred, with the amount received depending on the age and mileage of their vehicle at the time the repairs were made.
