Cynthia Mary Couyoumjian filed an arbitration claim against respondents Independent Financial Group LLC and The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States in relation to an NASD arbitration case, occurrence number 1233253, and a customer complaint, occurrence number 1976330, contained in her Central Registration Depository records.

CLAIMANT'S CONTENTIONS: Couyoumjian sought expungement of the two customer disputes on the grounds that they were false factually impossible or clearly erroneous.

RESPONDENTS' CONTENTIONS: Independent Financial Group requested that fees be assessed entirely against Couyoumjian, and Equitable requested that it be reimbursed its costs incurred in participating in the proceeding.

Result

The arbitrator denied Couyoumjian's request for expungement as to both underlying claims.
