Facts

Tereza Macias, Maria Macias, and Britzelda Macias were involved in a three vehicle collision while commuting in the County of Los Angeles (County). Following the collision, plaintiffs initiated a suit against the County Department of Public Works for their resulting damages.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that defendant was liable for its employee's conduct causing damages to plaintiffs. Plaintiffs further contended that defendant's employee caused the subject collision by failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions.

Result

Defendant agreed to pay plaintiff $30,000 to settle plaintiffs' claims.
