Facts

Plaintiff Personalized Media Communications, LLC owns patents related to adaptive video streaming, which allows content providers to serve users with high quality videos over the internet. Ten years ago, defendant Google, LLC and PMC attempted to negotiate a deal for Google to license plaintiff's patents. However, Google never licensed any of plaintiff's patents. Plaintiff later filed a complaint against Google for patent infringement.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant infringed plaintiff's patents by using it in Google products such as YouTube, YouTube Premium, YouTube Movies & Shows and Google's Content Distribution Network without a proper license.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied plaintiff's contentions. Defendant contended that none of the PMC patents were infringed.

Result

The jury rendered a verdict in favor of defendant.
