Facts

Plaintiffs Jennifer Miranda and Patricia Terry filed a class action lawsuit against Defendant Golden Entertainment (NV), Inc. in relation to a phishing attack that occurred between May 30, 2019 and October 6, 2019.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended they were the target of a cyberattack in which third parties sent phishing emails to Golden employees in order to gain access to its computer systems, resulting in unauthorized access to personal information of approximately 17,683 Golden customers, vendors, and current and former employees. Plaintiffs contended the compromised data that was illegally accessed included social security numbers, passport numbers, government ID numbers, driver's license numbers, dates of birth, usernames, passwords, payment card numbers, expiration dates, card security codes, financial account numbers, routing numbers, health insurance information, and health or treatment information.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions and any alleged wrongdoing.

Result

Defendant Golden agreed to pay eligible customers, vendors, and current and former employees of Golden reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses and lost time up to a maximum of $200 per claim, as well as, credit monitoring and fraud restoration services.
