Facts
On April 16, 2019, Plaintiffs Jaime Monroy Jr., driver, and Jonathon Campos, passenger, were entering an intersection when their vehicle was hit by a car driven by Defendant, Stacey Poon. At the scene, Campos suffered a momentary loss of consciousness and both Plaintiffs were taken to the hospital.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that Defendant was negligent in her operation of the car. They state that she suddenly pulled out in from of them which resulted in Monroy not being able to stop in time and as a result, his car hit hers.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant's claims adjuster did not dispute liability.

Monroy sought recovery of $18,794 in past medical costs. Plus, Monroy sought $140,000 in future medical costs for the surgeon, assistant surgeon and facility fees.
Injuries
Monroy claimed injuries to his back, neck and left knee and Campos claimed injuries to his back and left knee. Monroy was ultimately diagnosed with strains in his back and cervix plus a partial tear on his knee. Campos was diagnosed with lumbar radiculopathy and a partial tear in his knee. While he initially received knee injections, ultimately he needed surgery.
Result
Plaintiffs were awarded $900,000 each paid by Farmers Insurance Group.
