Camille Harris was driving near the intersection of Slauson Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard when a patrol vehicle operated by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Bradley James Liberator collided with Harris' vehicle. Thereafter, Harris sued Liberator and the County of Los Angeles for her injuries.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant Liberator was negligent in the operation of his vehicle, causing plaintiff to suffer serious injuries. Plaintiff asserted that defendant county was liable for the injuries caused by its agent, defendant Liberator, because defendant Liberator was driving a county issued patrol vehicle, and was acting within the scope of his employment as a deputy sheriff, at the time of the accident.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied all contentions.
Result
The case settled for $99,000.
