From April 17, 1989 to Aug. 24, 1994, plaintiff Kimberly Starks, a 34-year-old African-American woman, was employed by defendant Coors Brewing company in Golden, Colo. as a fork truck driver. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant's employee harassed and discriminated against her on the basis of her race and gender. The plaintiff also claimed she was subsequently fired in retaliation for complaining about the race discrimination and sex harassment. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants based on wrongful termination, race and sex harassment and discrimination, and retaliation theories of recovery.
