Facts

On Jan. 9, 1996, plaintiff Alejandro Serrano, a 21-year-old laborer, suffered total and partial amputation of two fingers on the right major hand while working on an unguarded table saw at defendants' furniture manufacturing plant. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on products liability and claims of marketability.
