Facts
On Feb. 27, 1997, plaintiff Kristi Fraijo was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee north in the middle lane of Speer
Boulevard approaching the intersection with West 13th Avenue. Defendant Belinda Sylvestor approached the
intersection from the westbound right turn lane of West 13th Avenue. The vehicles crashed in the intersection
and the plaintiffÆs jeep was pushed into a light pole.
Settlement Discussions
A $10,000 statutory offer of settlement was the final demand before trial. There was no final offer before trial.
Injuries
The plaintiff alleged that she suffered soft tissue injuries to the neck, back and shoulder. She also sustained a knee injury, numbness of the extremities, a fractured tooth and TMJ Problems. She alleged migraine headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, fatigue, nausea and mood swings, cervical and thoracic spine strain as well as permanent impairment. The PIP carrier paid medical bills of almost $34,000 and the plaintiff paid $2,883 in medical bills.
Other Information
The jury found that the plaintiff was injured, and the defendant was not negligent.
