Facts
Leticia Garcia, Mitchell Rios, Alfonso Faustino, Greg Goumas, and Greg Otte filed a lawsuit against Oracle Corp. The class included persons employed by Oracle and/or PeopleSoft in California for certain times, who worked as quality assurance testers, technical support analysts, and project managers.
Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs alleged that Oracle and PeopleSoft failed to pay overtime, to provide meal periods, to pay for missed meal breaks, to provide accurate pay stubs, and to use correct final paychecks.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant denied the allegations and any wrongdoing. Defendants claimed that employee plaintiffs were exempt from overtime, and were not denied meal periods, and that it provided proper pay stubs and final checks.
Result
Defendant agreed to pay $35 million.
