Published: Feb. 2, 2013 | Result Date: Jul. 13, 2012 | Filing Date: Jan. 1, 1900 |

Case number: 337-TA-786 Bench Decision –  Defense

Facts

Freescale Semiconductor Inc. sued MediaTek Inc. for patent infringement. Freescale alleged that MediaTek, the largest fabless semiconductor manufacturer in Asia, infringed on its patent related to semiconductor bus termination circuitry. Freescale sought to enjoin MediaTek from importing its products.

Result

The International Trade Commission Administrative Law Judge Robert K. Rogers Jr. found that there was no violation by MediaTek on three alternative grounds: domestic industry, invalidity and non-infringement. The full Commission thereafter upheld Judge Rogers' finding.
