Keith Steel and Anpei Lin filed suit against Charles Schwab & Co. Inc., asserting causes of action for negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, fraud and deceit, unfair business practices, and the California Corporations Code. The causes of action related to Steel and Lin's investment in the Schwab California Tax-Free YieldPlus Fund.

Damages

The claimants sought compensatory damages of at least $422,000.

Result

The panel recommended the expungement of all references to the arbitration from Brian Crume's registration records. Otherwise, the panel denied all other relief requested.
