Plaintiff Simon Khachatryan was driving in a funeral procession behind a line of cars, when traffic in front of him came to a stop. As a result, he was rear-ended by defendant Zepur Leon Karamanoukian.
Plaintiff Sarkis Nikogosian was a passenger in Khachatryan's vehicle. Defendant admitted liability.

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs claimed defendant did not stop her vehicle and collided with the rear of plaintiffs' stopped vehicle.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
While admitting liability, defendant contested the nature and extent of plaintiffs' injuries.

Injuries
Nikogosian was diagnosed as having resolving/resolved cervicothoracic musculoligamentous strain/sprain injury and lumbar musculoligamentous injury with discogenic pain and radiculopathy. Lumbar decompression surgery was recommended by the treating orthopedist. Khachatrian was also diagnosed with back and neck musculo-ligamentous sprain that was resolved. He also suffered residual knee pain.
Result
Nikogosian settled for $250,000 policy limits. Khachatryan later settled for $35,000.
