Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations and the San Francisco Crab Boat Owners Association Inc. filed a complaint against the U.S. Dept. of the Interior and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Westlands Water District, San Luis Water District, and Panoche Water District intervened to join as defendants in the matter.
Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs filed this complaint, seeking to overturn the Bureau's environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact adopted for eight water service contracts, alleging that the environmental assessment and finding violated the National Environmental Policy Act. Plaintiffs claimed that the assessment ignored the environmental impacts the contracts have on salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, and other fish wildlife.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants filed a motion for summary judgment on all of plaintiffs' claims.
Result
The district court entered judgment in favor of defendants.
